The 4th Annual La Lingerie Carnival Swim Fashion Show took place on February 3rd at the Madison Club (Madison, WI). It's an event put on to celebrate the beauty of women and empower them to feel comfortable and happy in their bodies by having models of all ages and sizes flaunt gorgeous lingerie created by La Lingerie. We put together a sumptuous soft-skin basket full of skin softening and pampering treatments, and here is the winner!
As Qet purveys 100% natural, botanical-focused skin and body care that enhances our body’s natural health and glow from the inside to the outside, this event inspires us, as the proceeds benefit the domestic abuse treatment center in Madison, DAIS (Domestic Abuse Intervention Services). In being involved in this amazing event, we couldn't help but ponder, “What kind of products are placed on the majority of skin shown amongst these pieces of delicately beautiful ‘underthings’?”
According to this article, “We Americans are lotion lovers. But in Europe and other parts of the world, oil is actually the more popular option for hydrating dry skin. And there are differences between the two. Some manufacturers have to add all sorts of fillers and emulsifiers to create creamy lotion, while certain plant-based oils are super-effective at keeping us hydrated and radiant without needing the added ingredients.”
When you think of your skin, do you immediately think about the amount of lotion required to keep your skin moisturized (especially in the dry months of winter)? As discussed above, you’re not alone. As we have discussed in previous blogs, the beauty and skin market is not regulated according to the ingredients held within the bottle. Nor are companies required to list all of the ingredients within their product on the label of their fancy packaging. This is not the case in Europe, where all ingredients are heavily monitored and the skincare/beauty market is heavily regulated to ensure that all products are safe and health-conscious.
Skincare is absorbed into the skin, and cosmetics typically sit on the surface. This is the reason why we're so passionate about keeping Qet skincare products green and clean.
So, what's a gal to do when she needs a clean makeup brand in her bag? Using EWG's Skin Deep database is a great tool to help weed out the not-so-safe brands. And… don't be afraid to spend a few minutes reading the itty-bitty print on the label to spot any ingredients that should be avoided – no matter how pretty that label looks.
We like to think of lingerie as sexy, celebratory of the female body (of any age, size and shape), and honorably natural. While the word lingerie is derived from the French language… we encourage you to think as our European counterparts and bring natural products to your skin care routine. Check out our list of products below that feature plant-based oils that soak deep into that sexy skin of yours and bring you to your most naturally, gorgeous self.
Botanical Body Powder (so, this isn’t an oil product, of course, but it’s one of our newly developed products, and WE LOVE IT!)
Now… don't be afraid to flaunt it!
