What's your business, and who are your customers?
Qēt Botanicals is a brand with a true heartbeat. Qēt started because of a need, and it's blossomed because of the passion and care that we pour into what we do. We're a woman-owned independent manufacturer of our own proprietary face, body, and hair treatments. We ship and share directly from our private facilities with those near and far that are looking to clean up their care routines and feed their skin and body with truly authentic and organic whole plant ingredients. We avoid synthetics, artificial fragrances, and the thousands of 'natural' manufactured additives used in the skincare industry. Instead, we use limited, authentic, proven organic and plant-derived single-sourced ingredients. Nothing premixed, nothing synthetically manufactured, and nothing hormone-disrupting or toxic to our systems or our surroundings.
Tell us about yourself
My skin sensitivities and overall health changes have shown me that ingredients in our food and in those products that we use on our bodies every day really make a difference. I've struggled with Rosacea, autoimmune and thyroid issues, hormonal and cystic acne, eczema, and skin sensitivities in general. After many doctor visits and oral and topical prescriptions and medications, I took matters into my own hands and started developing plant-based organic care products that not only nurtured and cleared my skin but that actually cared for and improved my skin and whole body. Since we launched in April of 2013, we've heard thousands of kind words and heartfelt thanks from guys and gals that have found a friend in our treatments. There is always something to learn, and we're passionate about keeping our treatments fresh, performing, and filled with only natural ingredients that make a difference, a positive difference.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Every day is a new day, and every day brings new insight, new opportunities, and new growth within our brand and between our customers and us. We stayed in touch with and in tune with our customer's needs, we continued to maintain and improve the quality of our ingredients and the performance of our treatments, and our team and brand are happy and thriving. We love what we develop and what we share, and our customers do, too. We're here because there is a need to be filled. We all deserve to be able to care for ourselves without the worry or compromise of our health or hormones because of a chemical or toxin.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As a business owner, sometimes it's like having a classroom full of students all doing different subjects. It's both hard and rewarding at the same time. There are many different facets, operations, and responsibilities in front of and behind the scenes that are important to be involved in every day. Our business has many moving parts, and we also have caring hearts for our ingredients, our products, and our customers. It's both emotionally uplifting and can also be challenging. But it's because of our connections to both what we do, and share and who we share our treatments with that's the most fulfilling and rewarding for all of us.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Starting, running, and growing a business are three very different modes of operation. However, if your business is something that has been truly and passionately rooted within you, then all three of these modes are beautifully molded into one within your business.
My feelings:
- Start a business because it's what you believe in.
- Run your business as you would care for your family and your home; be true to yourself.
- Grow your business like it's your child, and you want what's best for it and for those that surround your 'child.' Staying true ~ to your goals, values, and inspirations ~ is what will help you grow your business, and it's what will keep you happy and healthy all along the way. :)
