A Mom is Often More than a "Mom"
I don't know about you, but I know plenty of "Mother-like" friends who've never had or raised a child. It's not just about birthing or raising your own little person running around. A Mom has a maternal instinct and is one who cares... a lot.
In my opinion, a Mom can be a person who cares, loves, and nurtures people, even things. A Mom of a pet, a garden, a group of friends, or of another family member... chances are you know of a maternal person who you've connected with as a Mom, and they may have no relation to you at all.
In this month of May, it's a special month that we celebrate all kinds of Moms... not just those that have given birth or have raised a little person.
So here's to you, and here's to that someone special that you know. 😊

Why We Celebrate Mother's Day ~
It was 114 years ago when Anna Jarvis put together a memorial for her mom; this was the start of her wanting to make Mother's Day a holiday. Her mom was a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers in the Civil War ~ she cared for soldiers on both sides of the war. According to Anna, she felt that a Mother is "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world."
Little did she know that all of these years later it's a recognized holiday all over the world at different times in March or in May. It's a time to celebrate those that may have cared for us, or even those that we care about.
Even if we're not a Mom, or we don't have a "Mom," it's a wonderful time to recognize and share feelings with someone we look up to for comfort, laughter, or love.

Mother Earth, Mother Ocean
In addition to our Moms and Mom-Friends, for hundreds of years the ocean has been known as Mother Ocean.
Our lives would be affected dramatically without her. The food we eat, the pleasure we get from her, the transportation she provides, the fun in the sun... all are gifts that the ocean, our lakes, and creeks give us ~ they shouldn't be taken for granted.
We only use ingredients that keep our treatments ocean, reef, and water safe. Our surroundings in nature and in the water, as well as those mom-figures, grandmas, or friends that have been a role model in our lives, are all helping to shape our future. It's something to think about every time we share a gift or make a purchase.

Fresh Body Oil for Showering, Shaving, and Massage (and body brushing, too!)
This was a wonderful mistake! In the very early stages, when developing and formulating a serum, if it wasn't quite right, rather than dispose of it I would bring it into the shower to shave my legs or massage it onto my skin. Hello?!?!?! Why in the world aren't we using shaving oils all the time?! So here we are ~ this Fresh Body Oil is different than our body serums as the formula is lighter. There are actives and ingredients to help the razor, or body brush, glide while moving across the skin. It rinses clean and leaves the skin oh-so-soft.
Our nectars were formulated and shared because we love the aromas that come from the Skin Studio while we're mixing our treatments, so much so that we wanted to wear those aromas whenever we want to. Zero alcohols or synthetic fragrances, like walking through a rose garden with deeper notes of the season. Very unique and special, and unique to the person who wears it, as it can change with our own personal body chemistry. It doesn't walk in the room before you... it's your own personal aroma that you're reminded of gently as you wear it day or night.
