Now... let's get to it! 😋👇
Up Close & Personal: Ultra Garden Serum for Body
First, on average, we have about 22 feet of skin on our body, so if we're going to care for it, let's make the treatment count, and let's keep it safe and natural.
Second, there is 0% water in our three body serums, and this particular body serum happens to offer the most moisture and hydration than our other two body oils.
Water is often the first ingredient found in body moisturizers and oils. We avoid it in these treatments because water breeds bacteria, it needs a very heavy (and often harmful) preservative, and it's a cheap filler ingredient. Check almost any moisturizer out there on the market, and you'll see water on the ingredient label.
Our Ultra Garden Serum for Body is called this because of the natural, organic, and nourishing actives that come in each of the ingredients. It's filled with garden delights, and our skin loves garden delights!
See for yourself... here's the full ingredient list of this award winning and favored body oil:
Oils from almond*, meadowfoam flower*, avocado*, sunflowers*, olives*, broccoli*, lavender flowers*, non-gmo vitamin E, jasmine flowers**, vanilla beans*, rosemary flowers*, geranium flowers*, and carrots*. *organic ingredient, **wildcrafted ingredient
Up Close & Personal: Restoring Clay Exfoliant with Tea & Roses
You've heard us say it before, and you'll hear us say it again... the right gentle exfoliant can really make a difference for oily skin, comfortable, combination, and yes, even for dry and dehydrated skin. It's truly a soft skin staple.
Our Restoring Clay Exfoliant with Tea & Roses is the gentlest exfoliant in our family of six exfoliants, and it's award winning and loved for even the most sensitive complexions.
We keep our exfoliants dry so when you're ready to use them, the actives will be awakened and ready to go.
I always say that it's just like when we add a tea bag to steep in warm water ~ the tea wakes up and is ready when you are. Some like to mix our exfoliants with the cleansing oils, and others like to mix it with our botanical masks. Just water is great, and these are also fun options... they're scrumptious together... and they all play well together. 😊
Just a small amount of water added to a nickel size our in the palm of your hand is all it takes. Massaged gently onto a clean complexion, it helps pull out impurities of the pores, dissolve dead cells, and softens and smooths the skin.
No harsh edges, no ground up nut shells, no glutens or microplastics, and nothing artificial.
There's no need to fear our exfoliants... here's the full ingredient list for this treatment for you to peek at:
Gluten free oat*, rhassoul clay (third party tested to be clean and safe), rose petals*, lavender flowers*, cane sugar* (a pure + natural form of glycolic acid), matcha green tea leaves*, pure rose oil without artificial additives**. *organic ingredient, **wildcrafted ingredient
Up Close & Personal: Balancing Cleansing Oil with Thyme
What a neat trick... balancing our cleansing oil on this wooden ball! 👏
It's also a neat trick to cleanse your skin with an oil. Yes, that even goes for the oiliest complexion, to the driest complexion, to everything in between.
This Balancing Cleansing Oil with Thyme was the very first treatment I ever formulated because my hormonal and cystic acne, Rosacea bumps, and redness sensitive skin demanded it. It was also the first big clean beauty award we ever received, and that was long before cleansing oils were popular. Yay! 🥇
Cleansing oils are thorough enough to remove makeup, sunscreen, dirt, and impurities not only from the surface, but also from the pores.
Oil removes oil... remember that lesson from chemistry class?
Just a small amount massaged onto a wet or dry complexion, and then removed with a wet washcloth or wet cotton pad, and your skin is soft, cleansed, and not over stripped. Our skin's delicate microbiome is kept happy, and our skin is cleansed and cleared with every use.
Compare this ingredient list with a previous cleanser you've used. You'll be surprised (again!) at how clean our ingredients really are.
Here's the full list of the ingredients in this cleanser:
Olive oil*, castor bean oil*, sea buckthorn berry oil*, lavender flower oil*, thyme leaf and flower oil*, geranium flower* , and jasmine flower oil**. *organic ingredient, **wildcrafted ingredient
Up Close & Personal: Spot Serum
This Spot Serum has been a skin saver for many us, as it has been for me. It treats the kind of spots that we get from acne, bug bites, little rashes, and unwanted red blemishes and areas from Rosacea and eczema.
It's hard for me to hear it when someone tells me that I have beautiful skin, because if you had seen me on and off over the years before I developed Qēt, or in the images below, you wouldn't have said that.
Many treatments on the market would make my skin crusty and dry, and the nasties would get trapped under the skin, and nothing beneficial could get through the hardness that happened on the surface of the skin. It's a vicious cycle.
Funny Fact: In years previous to this treatment, I've tried benzoyl peroxide, witch hazel, salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and other ingredients that were harsh on my skin to clear it up. I've also used the lotions that bleached my pillowcase and towels. Shout out and apologies to my sister! When I was visiting her years ago my 'skincare to help my breakouts' accidentally bleached her bathroom towels. I never told her it was me, I'm sure she knew it was, and now she knows for certain... LOL. Oops! 😄
One drop of well-shaken Spot Serum helps to cut the redness and inflammation, kill the bacteria trapped under the skin, and help the healing process while keeping the skin soft and supple.
We don't want to dry out our skin too much because then our skin goes into hyper-active mode and produces excess oil to protect itself. Our skin is so smart!
Compare this full ingredient list of the organic oils and actives with others labels from products that you've used. I know... it's crazy what's in other brand's ingredient lists!
Safflower oil*, evening primrose flower oil*, flowers of sulfur, turmeric oil*, sea buckthorn berry oil*, thyme leaves and flower oil*, helichrysum flower oil*, and lavender flower oil*. *organic ingredient
Up Close & Personal: Forest Fresh Dry Putty Deodorant
Probably the hardest thing for me to formulate was a simple, clean, and effective deodorant. I had tried many different 'natural' liquids, rocks, sprays, roll ons, and creams that didn't work for me. When putting this initial formula together, I tried to make it into a solid with the typical applicator, but changing the formula to do that made is less effective. So... I stuck with the putty, and they're much more popular now than they were then.
So here we have it, our Forest Fresh Dry Putty Deodorant... a dry little putty that can be used under the arms, inside socks on the toes, under running bras, and anywhere there's chafing. Know that for some there can be a 7-10 day 'detox' of the area depending on the ingredients and synthetics in the previous type of antiperspirant or deodorant used.
In addition to glycols, silicones and fragrances, we also avoid citrus in our deodorants because it can change the pH of the skin and even cause the skin to have hyperpigmentation and darkened areas.
We've included just a tiny amount of baking soda to cut the odor causing bacteria, and we know that too much baking soda can be too much. We blend just the right amount of recognizable ingredients to make this dry putty happy and healthy for so many different areas of our skin.
Here's the full ingredient list for you to look at, and each ingredient is in there for a purpose and for our health. Compare this formula to others that often include citrus, alcohols, silicones, and even synthetic preservatives. No... we don't even want those ingredients on our armpits!
Arrowroot root powder*, coconut oil*, grape seed oil*, shea butter*, aluminum free baking soda, lavender flower oil*, sustainable sandalwood oil*, non-gmo vitamin e, frankincense oil*, vanilla bean oil. *organic ingredient
Up Close & Personal: Re-Fresh for Clean Hands
This was a necessary addition to my handbag and car, even before the many hand sanitizers that hit the market became essential a few years ago.
Avoiding harsh ethyl alcohol, hormone disruptors, and artificial fragrances, and using only clean botanical oils and a dash of a skin softening probiotic makes the most sense for our hands. The ingredients are also self preserving and help to keep this treatment fresh and ready to perform. One in the hand bag and one in the car, and we're good-to-go!
We want our hands to be, feel, and smell clean, not dried out and stripped of the natural microbiome that keeps our hands in working order. The skin on the tops of our hands hardly has any natural oil production at all, so avoiding the stripping ingredients keeps the skin on our hands youthful and healthy.
Tip... our Re-Fresh also makes a fantastic air and room freshener, too!
Here's the full list of the ingredients in our take-it-with-you hand cleanser.
Pure steam-distilled water, lactobacillus probiotic**, peppermint leaf oil*, lavender flower oil*. *organic ingredient **ECOCert Approved
Up Close & Personal: Blooming Tea Bath ~ An Afternoon in Paris
I really didn't know this product was going to be shared when I was sipping on tea in Paris as a chaperone for our daughter's middle school French class. All I knew at the time was that I wanted to jump right into my tea cup! 💓 🇫🇷
The tea I was drinking was called 'An Afternoon in Paris" and it was very appropriately called that. We were at Fauchon enjoying a little afternoon break, and the tea practically called out to me and leapt right into my arms. I had to drink it. Yes... I loved it.
The gentle and delicious aromas and flavors of lavender, rose, citrus, and vanilla in that tea soothed my senses and was perfect from the first drop to the last.
Years later, I decided I wanted a "tea bath" and there was no other name to give it, or way to develop it, than exactly what I was drinking those years before.
The Blooming Tea Bath ~ An Afternoon in Paris was born. Funny tidbit ~ in our Wisconsin shop is that original box of tea that I purchased that day back in 2008 from Fauchon in Paris. In it remains one tea bag that I have kept tucked inside the box. 😘
Here are the full ingredients of our tea bath that are lovely to soak in to transport you to your happy place:
Gluten-free oat*, Dead Sea salt, Epsom salt, rose petals*, lavender flowers*, jasmine flowers*, orange fruit*, vanilla bean*, lavender flower oil*, vanilla bean oil*. *organic ingredient

On the right... my skin in my late 50s. It's the struggles and journeys like these that make us smarter about our choices and our overall health.
