Why is November National Healthy Skin Month?

The AAD, or American Academy of Dermatology, assigns this time in November as a reminder to pay attention to our skin. It's a great time to dig in and learn about those ingredients that we're feeding our skin!

~ A Look Back for Thinking Ahead ~
In the little Wisconsin town I grew up in, my Dad was the local banker. In fact, while he was in school, he started filling ink wells for that same bank, which is also where my Grandfather worked. Yep... that was a long time ago!
My Dad would say to us that if you don't set something aside and add to your bank account, there won't be anything in your account. You can't take anything out from an empty bank account. So true.
Self care is very much like banking. Taking moments to add to your self care bank, no matter how big or how small, can add up to a healthy investment in you. With each moment we take for self care, we can earn interest (healthy benefits!) on what we add to our health and wellbeing bank account.
